Information

This stunning 1935 Duesenberg Model SJ is among the rarest of its kind, one of just 36 factory, built supercharged cars. Originally delivered to World War I flying ace Reginald Sinclaire, it came equipped with special high-performance components straight from the factory.
In 1937, the car received an elegant update at Rollston, a prestigious New York coachbuilder. During this transformation, it was fitted with a distinctive fixed vee-shaped windshield, an option seldom seen on these cars.

Born in Corning, New York, on August 30, 1893, Reginald Sinclaire was part of a family tied to the founding of Corning Glass Company. Fascinated by early automobiles and aviation, he left Yale when World War I broke out and volunteered for service. After being turned down by the U.S. Signal Corps, he traveled to France, where he trained as a pilot and joined the Lafayette Flying Corps, a unit of American volunteers flying for France.
Sinclaire earned multiple honors for his combat achievements, including three Croix de Guerre medals with Palms. He later contributed to pilot training during World War II in the Pacific theater.

This historically significant Duesenberg is now proudly displayed at the Louwman Museum in the Netherlands.
