Information

Duesenberg Model J chassis 2312 has an interesting early history tied to both European and American markets.
The car was first presented at the Milan Motor Show in April–May 1930, where it served as part of Duesenberg’s effort to promote the Model J to an international audience.

Following its exhibition in Italy, the chassis was shipped back to the United States, where it was used as a demonstrator in Philadelphia, introducing potential buyers to the performance and luxury of the Model J.

In 1932, the car was purchased by Mrs. Shields, marking the beginning of its private ownership phase. Unfortunately, details of its subsequent history have not survived, and the ultimate fate of chassis 2312 remains unknown.

Despite the gaps in its story, its documented role as both an international show car and factory demonstrator makes J‑2312 an intriguing entry in the early history of the Duesenberg Model J.
