Duesenberg Model J chassis 2193 was originally completed with a Derham-built sedan body, finished in a distinctive light green color and featuring a stylish V‑shaped windshield, a hallmark of many late‑1920s custom bodies.
The car was delivered new in June 1929 to Harry Robinson, an early and enthusiastic Duesenberg buyer who owned multiple Model Js during that era.
Robinson kept the car for four years before it changed hands in 1933, beginning a new chapter in its life.
By 1946, however, the Derham body suffered significant damage. Like many large pre‑war luxury cars that had fallen out of fashion and value by the mid‑20th century, the Duesenberg was eventually sold for parts, with its chassis and components dispersed rather than restored.
Although the original Derham‑bodied sedan no longer survives intact, the documented ownership history of 2193 contributes to the broader tapestry of early Model J provenance and to the legacy of the many enthusiasts who preserved, or attempted to preserve, these cars through challenging periods in automotive history.
